What's inside

  • Presenteeism linked to poor mental health: 39% on average, against around 9% absence. Numbers for your conversation with the board.
  • 50% of respondents see free mental health care from their employer as just as important as private medical care.
  • 54% think employers should be legally required to provide professional psychological support.
  • 41% say mental health support would do more for their productivity than a gym membership; 30% would consider a lower salary at a company with that kind of programme.
  • Comments from specialists in HR, finance, management and healthcare: short notes next to the data, plus longer opinion pieces.

Five areas of the study

  1. 01 Productivity at work – how much of their week employees rate as genuinely productive
  2. 02 Mental health – how often severe symptoms of stress, anxiety and depression occur, and in which groups
  3. 03 Absence and presenteeism – which matters more to the organisation
  4. 04 Sources of overload – how much lies with the employee and how much with the way work is organised
  5. 05 Support offered by employers – whether companies give people what they need

About the study

Mindgram and Experience Institute ran the study together as an online survey (CAWI) between 16 June and 3 July 2026, on a nationwide Polish research panel. Sample: 2,302 working Poles aged 18–65.

The sample covered seven areas of the economy: public administration, TMT, retail, manufacturing and FMCG, finance, TSL (transport, shipping and logistics), health & beauty, and pharma. We used two standardised tools: DASS-21 (severity of depression, anxiety and stress symptoms) and WPAI (the effect of health on productivity).

More than 20 specialists comment on the results, including Iwona Wencel (Comarch), Monika Smulewicz (HR We Go), Sandra Górecka (WeNet), Bartosz Kruszewski (Fiabilis), Karolina Latus (Mindgram) and Michał Łysik (Experience Institute).
